Hello English is giving a chance to 10,000 users to take the Certification Test, for free! To be eligible to take this test for free, the user will need to take the ‘Word of the Day’ quiz daily, from October 24, 2016 to November 2, 2016.

What is the Hello English Assessment App?

• Hello English’s Assessment App is a customized, scalable mobile platform to adjudge any candidate’s spoken English level accurately & quickly.

What will happen on the completion of the test?

• Upon completing the Certification Test the user will receive an e-certificate with their name and score on it. The user will receive the e-certificate through a notification link and they can access the same at any time.

In this test, user’s practical Grammar and productive vocabulary, fluency and pronunciation evaluation, Comprehension skills; listening & interpretation will be adjudged.

• Why this contest?
  • The user who qualifies the contest will be able to take the English certification test on Hello English Assessment app for free which is otherwise paid.
• Who will be eligible to participate in this contest?
  • All Hello English users who click on the ‘Word of the day’ notification that pops up and attempt the question daily for ten days, starting from 24th October 2016 to 2nd November 2016 would be eligible. The user needs to do this continuously for 10 days without a break to be able to remain eligible for the contest.
• When will this contest be held?
  • The contest will be held from October 24, 2016 to November 2, 2016.
• What if a person does not attempt the question for a day?
  • If the user fails to attempt the question on ‘word of the day’ for a day, then he will not be eligible to participate in the contest as this contest requires you to attempt questions daily.
• How will the user come to know that he is qualified then to take the test?
  • The user will get a message on the helpline informing him that he/she has qualified to take the Certification Test along with the link (from where he/she can download the Hello English test app) and a unique code.
• Do I have to answer the question correctly?
  • No, that is not necessary. You need to attempt the word of the day quiz.

• When will the test be conducted?
  • The test will be conducted on Sunday, November 6, 2016 (will be valid for 24 hours from midnight), for the eligible 10,000 users who attempted the daily quiz (word of the day) every day from October 24, 2016 to November 2, 2016.
• What type of questions will be there in the test?
  • The test will be conducted on Hello English Assessment App and the user will be judged on the following skills:
    • Pronunciation
    • Fluency
    • Sentence Mastery
    • Retention
    • Comprehension Listening and reading
• How long will be the test for?
  • It will be a 20 minutes test.
• If the test stops can I take the test in between?
  • The test needs to be completed at one go. The user cannot stop or pause the test in the middle. Once the test gets paused or stopped for any reason (call or internet connection), it cannot be taken again.
• Do I need an internet connection for the test?
  • Yes, an internet connection is required to take the test.
• Where can I take the test?
  • The test will be available on the Hello English Assessment App. A link for the same along with a code will be sent to the eligible users. Once you download the app, you will need to use the code to start your test. Please do not share your code with anyone else as it can only be used once.
• How will I be scored?
  • This is a spoken English test. You will be judged on pronunciation, fluency, sentence construction, listening comprehension and retention.
• How is this test helpful for me?
  • This is a Certification Test. On completion of this test, the user will receive a certificate via a link, which can be accessed any time. The certificate will have a score of each section. This certificate will be an evidence of the user’s understanding of the English language.
• Is the test in English?
  • Yes.
• Is the test for free?
  • The test would be free for the eligible 10,000 users who attempted the daily quiz every day from October 24, 2016 to November 2, 2016.
• How will I receive my test?
  • A link would be sent via the helpline and the test would be conducted on the Hello English Assessment App. Once you download the app, you will need to use the code to start your test. Please do not share your code with anyone else as it can only be used once.
• On what basis are the scores marked?
  • This is a spoken English test. You will be judged on pronunciation, fluency, sentence construction, listening comprehension and retention.
• How many questions will be there?
  • There are 5 sections in all with 42 questions.
• What is the next step after I get the message that I am qualified to take the test?
  • The user will get a link and a unique code along with the confirmation.The link will direct the user to download Hello English Assessment app. After the app is downloaded, it will ask you to enter the code which was sent to you along with the link and then your test will start.
• How will I come to know of my test results?
  • You will receive a link to your report card through the helpline (chat). Your certificate will also be sent as a link on the helpline.

Certificate FAQs

• How is the certificate useful for me?
  • On completion of this test, the user will receive a certificate via a link, which can be accessed any time. This certificate will be an evidence of the user’s understanding of the English language. The certificate will also have a link to your detailed report card with scores of each skill.
• When will I receive the certificate?
  • The certificate would be sent upon the completion of the test. Once the user has successfully completed the Certification Test, the certificate would be sent via a link on the helpline.
• What all details will the certificate have?
  • Your name, your test code, your English score and a link to your detailed report card.
• Will the certificate have my name?
  • Yes, the certificate will have the user’s name and unique code.
• Will my score be public?
  • No, only if you wish, you can choose to make it public on your Hello English profile.
• Will I receive the hard copy of the certificate?
  • No, just the e-copy of the certificate will be provided.
• Will the certificate also display my rank apart from the score?
  • No
• How will I be analysed on this?
  • The user will be judged on five skills:
    • Pronunciation
    • Fluency
    • Sentence Mastery
    • Retention
    • Comprehension Listening and reading
• Will the detailed analysis of my score appear on my digital certificate?
  • No, there will be a report card link on the certificate where the detailed analysis of your score will be visible.
• Will I receive my report card as well along with the certificate?
  • Yes, you will receive a link on helpline which will have both, i.e. your certificate and the report card.
• Is the certificate paid for?
  • It is free ONLY for all eligible users.
• Can someone not photoshop such a certificate?
  • No. Each certificate has a unique code that can be verified online. It also links to a detailed report card with the same code. If someone tries to create their own code – there will be no link for such a report card hence any employer can find out that it is fake. Also, the report card will have the user’s photo while taking the test.

Terms and Conditions

• Hello English will not be responsible if a user doesn’t receive the Word of the Day notification on a particular day.
• The test needs to be taken within 24 hours on 6th November 2016.
• The test can be taken only once.
• The test is Internet based. You should have good connectivity to the internet while taking the test. You also need to have front camera on your phone and give necessary permissions that the app asks for. If you do not give the permissions, the test will not run.
• The test will be conducted in the Hello English’s Assessment App.
• Hello English will not be responsible if the user fails to download and take the test via the link provided to the user due to any user related issues.
• You cannot share your code with anyone. If you give your code to another person and they take the test using that code, then, the test will not run for you. Hello English will not issue any new codes in such a condition and is not responsible if you share your code with someone else.
