Dairy versus Diary

This is not a very difficult one to crack. Let us see the difference between Dairy versus Diary. An ‘I’ here and there makes all the difference but these two words not only have very different meanings but are also poles apart when it comes to pronunciation.

Dairy

It is a place that supplies milk and where milk products are made.
E.g.

• The Amul dairy products are really good.
• I love the ice cream from London Dairy.

Diary

It is a book or a journal used to note down events, appointments and thoughts.
E.g.

• You should not read someone’s personal diary.
• I will note down the date in my diary.
• This wasn’t a very tough one, was it?
